Israel Photography Festival is happy to announce an open call for the Meitar Award 2017.
The Meitar Award is an international photography prize which is given to the emerging artists for the excellence in the field. The jury compiled of internationally renowned figures choose 20 finalists whose works will be presented in a group exhibition at the Israel Photography Festival in Tel Aviv in November 2017.
The winner will receive a money prize worth $14000, a solo exhibition and a one-year cooperation with a curator. The Meitar Award is an initiative of the Israel Photography Festival and the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund. It was first given in 2016 to Israeli artists who showed their talent and outstanding skills in photography.
As of this year the Meitar Award has become an international award, with the aspiration to create a worldwide dialogue through the language of photography.
Participants have to submit a series of 6-12 photographs which were created within the last 5 years. Submission deadline is the 18th of July, 2017.
Israel Photography Festival itself is the largest photography event held in Israel. This November it will take place for the 5th time in the center of Tel Aviv. For the ten days it will bring together some of the world’s most influential photographers, while cooperating with major international galleries and figures in the field. Amongst the festival’s special events are panels, seminars, gallery talks, master classes and conferences.
